Kvichak

Kvichak (pronounced Kwee-jack) is a sweet, laid-back, and easygoing girl.

Kvichak (pronounced Kwee-jack) is a sweet, laid-back, and easygoing girl. She used to pull on a dogsled team in Alaska and is trained for skijoring solo and tandem as well. She just turned 8 years old, weighs 118 lbs, and is half Alaskan malamute, a quarter Alaskan husky, and a quarter Greenland husky. Her Malamuet half and her age have mellowed out the husky hyperactivity, and she is content to spend her days curled up in the house as long as she gets in a good walk once a day. She has been a wonderful companion to my mother for her whole life, loves to put her head in your lap for pets, roll over for belly rubs, and likes to be near her people at all times. She loves walks in the woods and will stick with you as long as you keep an eye on her. Her beautiful fur is so soft and fluffy, and she loves to be hugged, petted and snuggled. Kvichak does well at the groomers getting her winter coat blown out and is comfortable in the car for long or short drives. Kvichak didn't grow up with cats and has a strong prey drive, so a home with no cats would be best. She likes to be the queen dog and gets along well with male dogs and submissive female dogs. She also has the typical husky dislike of being left alone, so a dog kennel or fenced run is best if she's going to be home alone. She is my mom's pride and joy and we even drove her down to Idaho when she moved from Bristol Bay, Alaska. My mom is in Hospice care and doesn't have long for this world. She truly wants to see her Kvichak go to a loving home. Unfortunately, we have a house in town with no yard and cats, so we can't give Kvichak the living situation that she deserves. She still has some good years in her and can be a wonderful companion for the right person or family. Please consider her for adoption, and thank you very much. Kvichak is currently in Priest River, ID.
