Mindy - Adopted

Mindy is an 8 yr old (estimated age, she was adopted from the Kitsap Humane Society 6 years ago and they estimated she was 2 yrs old then). Mindy is a great guard dog, she will let you know when someone walks by your house. She is vocal and is a super smart girl. She would do best in a home as an only dog or with a submissive dog, since she can be a bit dominant. She loves to play fetch, walks well on a gentle leader, she gets along with cats and our submissive neutered male dog, but will get her hackles up around dominant dogs.

Mindy enjoys snuggling on the couch, chewing bones, and ‘dissecting’ tennis balls. She sucks on her plush blankets and carries them from room to room. I believe this is how she self soothes. Mindy is a loving girl and has a low to moderate energy level. She is happy sleeping on the bed, on a dog bed, on the couch, or on her blanket. She loves balls and plays fetch and brings the ball back to you to throw again. She knows basic commands like “leave it”, “sit”, “down”, “look at me”, and comes when called. She doesn’t want to miss out, so she will come when any other pet is called, too! We are looking to find a new home for Mindy due to a change in our living situation. Mindy has some car anxiety, so she whines a lot on car rides.
